Space is the pinnacle of the engineering world (at least we think). Space is also still very unknown but what you may not realise is how small we are as a civilisation. Harnessing the power of dark matter and the sun (no, not solar panels) is one of the early stages of the Kardashev scale, and we aren't even halfway there yet. Space travel is also very expensive and time-consuming, so what's the big-ticket solution to getting us up there without sending the world into debt? Maybe an elevator into space?
