In this episode of the Raven Report, host Collin Kerouac catches up with STHS alumni Ally De Leon and Arleny Morales one year after their graduation. They share their unique experiences navigating life after high school, offering valuable perspectives for current students.
Ally dives into her journey as a sophomore Art Education major at Texas State. She discusses the transition from dorms to her own apartment, the importance of developing strong time management skills, and the real-world experience she's gaining through her work-study job and classroom observations. Ally shares her passion for creating an empathetic and safe learning environment where students can foster their creativity and critical thinking.
Arleny offers a look into life outside of the traditional college path. She speaks about the lessons learned from entering the workforce, managing finances while living independently, and discovering who you are outside of the structured environment of high school. Arleny shares stories from her job, her excitement about starting a new position as a Lab Tech, and her future goal of becoming a Radiology Technician.
Together, they reflect on their time at STHS—what they miss (the teachers and community) and what they don't (the food!)—before giving their best advice to the graduating class of 2025.
