This week, Allison and Max talk about two women who fought hard to stay on top. The first, Crown Princess of the Hawaiian Islands during the overthrow of 1893, travelled to America by herself to try and save the Monarchy; The other, a legendary singer and civil rights icon, fought her demons and an abusive relationship to create a sound that is listened to around the world to this day: Princess Kaʻiulani and Nina Simone.
