At the table in Simon the Pharisee’s home, Jesus is approached by a woman known only by her reputation—a sinner. What follows is one of the most powerful encounters of grace and redemption found in the Gospels.

In this second message in our summer sermon series Tables, we explore what it means to sit at a Table of Redemption. Through humility, love, and peace, this unnamed woman demonstrates what a redeemed life looks like in response to Jesus’ forgiveness. Her extravagant expression of love stands in contrast to Simon’s self-righteousness, reminding us that we’re all invited to the table—but we each must choose how we respond.

At this table:

– The broken are made whole

– The guilty are forgiven

– The unloved are embraced

– And redemption is offered to all who humbly receive it

Whether you relate more to Simon or to the woman, Jesus offers the same invitation: “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
