Leia Schenk stopped by the Full Circle and the timing couldn’t have been better. Ms. Schenk is the founder of the non-profit Empact, an organization that “fights for the community’s “voiceless and often unseen.” When something goes down, Ms. Schenk is called into action, often finding herself on the frontlines standing up against racism and injustice. We discussed the recent climate of injustice, the lack of protection of black women, and she brought awareness to the story of a local black, female military service person who was brutally murdered in her own home.
