We kick off with the most unhinged Valentine’s Day message you’ve ever heard (Daddy’s little pot pie is CRAZY), before school pickup humbles me in hi-vis when my own kids question whether I actually work hard. Nothing like a six-year-old performance review to keep you grounded.

Westy makes an interschool sports team… volleyball. Not soccer. Not baseball. Volleyball. I’m supportive, I’m proud, I’m also emotionally confused.

Then we throw him a birthday sleepover with the one kid at school who collects broken bones like Pokémon cards. Area 51 was booked out so we panic and take them to Bounce, aka Orthopaedic Surgeons’ Christmas Party. No injuries (miraculously), but I do discover kids don’t know how straw dispensers work and that a free jug of water now counts as a prize.

Migraine Sunday leads to a chaotic massage experience that nearly rearranged my nose permanently. Unhappy ending. Structurally aligned.

In comedy this week: Newmarket Hotel was a proper crush followed by a subtle drive-by from the MC about “young comics,” and The Comedy Cellar had me slightly in my head but still swinging.

Plus we meet Girth Brooks, Bronk Legsnar, and a kid whose prank on the wrong woman will haunt him forever.

Life’s good. Life’s weird. Life’s hi-vis depression and trampoline liability waivers.

And remember… if you think it can’t get worse, it probably can.
