A One Room School House History Lesson– To the Foothills with Robert Martin Episode 22 Jo Ann DunnJo Ann was born in Houston, Texas and earned a degree in elementary education at Southwestern University. She is married to Pem Dunn and has been living in Colorado since 1984. In Evergreen she was first involved with the Hiwan Homestead Museum as a tour guide and as a school aide. She was president of the Jefferson County Historical Society when they acquired the Medlen School. She applied for and was awarded a $20,000 grant from the State Historic Fund to restore the schoolhouse. She has been teaching an historic program since 1998.In 2015 she wrote the application that placed the school on the National Register for Historic Places. Jo Ann ‘s other passion is music and she has been a member of the Evergreen Chorale since 1987. She is blessed to share the singing with her daughter, Laurie and grandchildren Katrina and Kevin.Jo Ann and Pem have traveled extensively over their 59 years of marriage.
