I have been on a hunt for a double breasted suit blazer for a while and one of the places I looked is the Working Style store on Ponsonby where I met Andrew. Andrew is the store manager there, was very kind asking what I wanted and showing me around the shop, and especially listening to my frustration of not being able to find a decent double breasted suit blazer. Sometime during our conversation, I realised Andrew was rocking a double breasted jacket!
I asked him where he got it from and he told me that he made it which to me is the biggest flex as far as it comes to clothes. He told me that he got interested in tailoring, trained under a bespoke tailor, and have been making his own clothes for years.
As a fan of good quality clothes and fashion, I had to have him on the podcast to talk about tailoring and clothes. As a consumer, my conversation with Andrew opened a whole world of bespoke tailored clothes. This has been very exciting as it added a whole new dimension of clothes shopping for me.
Also as a consumer of clothes, I have been aware of the sustainability of my consumerism and one way I have been practicing this has been to purchase few good quality pieces which would last a long time and I now realise that bespoke tailoring is as good as it gets when it comes to that.
