How can we fight the homelessness epidemic with a marketing mindset?
On this episode of Built On Strategy, we are joined by Ryan Moser, VP of Strategy at the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH). We discuss the policies and structures that perpetuate a housing market that systemically produces a cycle of low status criminality and inevitably homelessness. There has been a pivotal evolution regarding how professionals approach issues surrounding those in need, shifting the blame from an individualistic view to a comprehensive understanding of systems that yield America’s staggering number of incarcerated and homeless citizens. When cities have exhausted their public institutions’ methods of fighting these problems, they reach out to CSH for help with developing a strategic plan to combat this epidemic. Fighting homelessness is not only an ethical responsibility for cities but businesses and government departments benefit greatly from third party consulting regarding these serious issues. Ryan contends that one of the best ways to find solutions is to use marketing methodology and simply talk to the affected people.
