The Paladin job ambitiously attempts to encapsulate both the ideals of an honor-bound defender of the people and a stalwart protector of Ul'dah's sultan. Eorzea's paladins, also named the Sultansworn, were created to serve as bodyguards of Ul'dah's rulers. Much like the sultanate itself though, this order has seen its luster tarnished over the years.
