Ep 22 | What It Takes To Run An Award Winning Studio | With Mason Poe
Welcome to episode 22 of Webflail. Today’s guest is legendary in the Webflow space, Mason Poe, founder of Edgar Allen Studio.
Edgar Allen won 3 awards this year at Webflow Conf including winning agency of the year - an incredible achievement and it’s easy to see why after listening to their dilligent founder in this interivew. As someone that’s been running his agency for almost 10 years, it’s clear that Mason’s experience gives him a unique insight in to Webflow as a platform and community. Mason talks about all sorts of different topics - how a rising tide lifts all the boats within the Webflow community, how anger is a gift, how Edgar Allen is working to be the tip of the spear for the enterprise market and ambitions for 2023.
The 3 failures we talk about are:
- I failed the third grade. it was a painful time in my life, and I spent most of my time under a desk. (literally sitting under my desk) I struggled through school but in some ways I learned a lot about perseverance. (It kind of made me better at sales)
- At my last job there was a time I embraced the idea of 'fail harder'... it was a nice motto but it also feed into this idea of hussle culture. Long story short I in the end did fail harder... and was fired from my last job.
- When I was first starting my business I was working from 4:00 AM until 11:00 at night. At one point my daughter asked my wife... "is daddy coming over today"
