Chef Leilani Baugh's passion for food began as a small child. Raised by her two grandmothers, she learned at an early age that food and hospitality were the way to people's hearts. With one grandmother a Chinese immigrant and the other an African American Southern housekeeper, she embraced both worlds by ultimately fusing the two. Taking recipes from both grandmothers, she found herself mixing her favorites into delightful dishes for her family and friends.
In 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, Chef Leilani made the bold decision to open Magnolia Street Wine Lounge & Kitchen, named after the street she grew up on in Oakland, California. Tune in to hear her background story, how she navigated through the uncertainty of the pandemic and describes the vibe you'll encounter when you visit Magnolia Street.
