In today’s episode I’m talking about making mistakes and being wrong...and I'm sharing a cringeworthy but hilarious story about a mistake I made.
In a previous episode, I talked about failure. In other words, those times when you’ve tried to do something and failed, you’ve taken on a challenge or started a project and not gotten where you wanted to go. In that episode, the focus was on being able to learn from your failures, make the adjustments you need to make, and keep going – even using failure as a springboard.
What I’m talking about today seems like a smaller issue but can actually be a bigger issue. Let me explain. Today, I’m focusing on just being wrong about something or making a mistake in everyday life. So on the surface, it seems like a smaller thing than trying something new and failing.
But having a problem with being wrong is a bigger issue when it keeps you from putting yourself in a position to fail at something that’s important to you. In other words, if we want to get ok with trying things that are important to us and possibly failing, we first have to be ok with being wrong in everyday life.
So today I want to talk about accepting our mistakes, getting ok with being wrong, and being able to laugh at ourselves when we screw up and not letting mistakes negatively impact our self-confidence.
Because making mistakes is part of life. Listen to this episode to hear about just a few of the times I’ve screwed up and to learn why we should all take ourselves less seriously.
