In the annals of serial killers, few figures stand as disturbing and enigmatic as Karl Denke, a German 
cannibal who terrorized the Silesia region of Poland between 1924 and 1929. Known as the "Silesian 
Vampire" and the "Monster of Ziębice," Denke's reign of terror involved the murder, mutilation, and 
cannibalization of at least 45 people, though he confessed to over 30. His crimes were motivated by a 
deep-seated sadism and a fascination with human flesh.
