Palm Beach County Perspective

Ep. 24 - Palm Beach County has a vibrant Hispanic Business Community

Listen Later

Episode 24 takes a deep dive into entrepreneurial opportunities in our community. However, we give today's episode a decidedly Hispanic flavor. Our three entrepreneurs are transplants to our community. That is not really much different from the massive influx of community members relocating to South Florida from other places in the United States. What differentiates these three individuals is they've overcome language and cultural barriers to success having their roots in Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Mary Sol González embedded herself into the community with multiple board memberships. She founded the International Business Alliance as an arm of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber and has gone on to found the Hispanic Entrepreneur Initiative (HEI). Roxana Scaffidi came to the US from Peru in 1995. After gaining valuable business experience she made the decision in 2013 to establish her own company, FL-Accounting & Advisors to offer tailored accounting services to small and mid-sized companies. Our third guest, Erick Solms describes himself as a soccer fanatic, web aficionado, social mediaholic and Internet specialist. He harnessed those attributes, converting his passion for technology into an IT business owner. In 2014 he created Simplitfy and has grown a successful IT support company. Listen to how these three "foreigners" overcame the obstacles to success.
