The Community Cricket Podcast

Ep 25: Expanding Midweek Participation, with Matt Camp

Listen Later

This week we speak with Matt Camp, the creator of Slam Cricket, a competition originating in the South of England out of the need to plug a gap in participation. Back in 2018, Matt was savvy enough to recognise that people's time was at more of a premium than ever before, making all day recreational cricket at weekends an unworkable proposition for many. Hear how and why he set about providing a viable short form weeknight alternative for those who still want to play. Enjoy the show!

Notes on podcast series:

The Community Cricket Podcast is brought to you by Twenty 20 Community Cricket Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation aiming to support and promote cricket in state schools, to develop young cricketers of all ages & backgrounds and to develop associate cricket nations at all levels. The podcast is presented by Tim Ferrone and Darren Talbot. Darren brings an enormous wealth of cricket coaching and development experience, and Tim reckons he spends more time coaching than he does his 'proper' job. Both love the sport of cricket and are tremendously passionate advocates of its capacity to benefit all who partake in it.
