Welcome Christina Haidemenos, Co-Founder of Women's Entrepreneurship Week MKE!
Women's Entrepreneurship Week is a week-long series of events designed to spark business and economic growth by showcasing, educating and connecting women entrepreneurs and professionals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and beyond. Women from all backgrounds and their male allies attend events during the week to hear from strong women leaders in our own community. The 2019 events drew in over 2,700 attendees. This year's WEWMKE is scheduled for May 11-16, 2020. Christina has also worked for several years in Milwaukee's growing tech startup industry. She is currently a Client Success Manager at Socialeads, an AI platform that helps financial services companies and their advisors find signals in social media conversations to better serve their clients.
We couldn't get enough of Christina! She walked us through WEWMKE: how it operates, what to expect and where to go. She then dove into the enormity of putting on a week-long event, detailing the constant complexities, road blocks and moving pieces. She emphasized how she and her business partners strive to create an inclusive, welcoming and educational space where no one is "too good or too new" to join in. Christina runs WEWMKE with her two close friends, which brings along its own unique strengths and challenges. Being no strangers to this, we had a great time breaking down the good, the bad and the ugly (mostly good) of owning a business with your friends. We discussed how sometimes you want to rip each others heads off, but also the unparalleled level of support you get when combining female friendship and a business partnership. The pod has not only strengthened our bond, but has given us the opportunity to connect with so many powerful women. We love that we are sharing Christina's episode honoring women's history month, as she shows us the perfect example of the incredible things we can create.
