"Give cheerfully (2 Cor 9); Generous people will prosper/be blessed (Prov 11, 22); How you sow, so shall you reap (Luke 6, 2 Cor 9); Generosity to the needy honours the Lord (Prov 14, 1 Timothy)."

All these things we've heard amongst church folk for decades, but yet we look at the western world today, so full of greed, discontentment, envy, jealousy and the like, and it's hard to fathom how far away the church has really fallen in reflecting the Biblical standard of Giving or Generosity. That is, from the church of Acts to the church of the 21st Century.

So what does it mean to be Generous? How is the Bible's standards different from the world's? How can we practice Biblical, Christ like Generosity in our own lives? Is generosity only centered around finances and money?
