Album: O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Artist: Multi-Artist
CT&OB wanted to try something new and the 3 of us each picked an album, then had you guys pick which you wanted to hear. This album went up against Vince Gill and & Holy Roller; we will be doing those in the near future.
CT&OB listened to the soundtrack and watched the movie, well 2/3s of us did. =) The movie is a loose interpretation of the Odyssey by the Coen Brothers. O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a Depression-era adventure about three escaped convicts traveling across Mississippi in search of hidden treasure. The Coen Brothers created this movie loosely inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. We recommend you watching the movie when you get a chance.
The O Brother, Where Art Thou? Soundtrack is a mix of bluegrass, gospel, and blues that helps capture the Depression-era feel. This soundtrack has many notable artists that include Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, and of course the Soggy Bottom Boys. These artists helped the soundtrack win many awards from Grammy, CMA, ACM, and international awards.
Let us know your favorite song in the comments.
