Ep. 27 - Plant Based Nutrition for Runners

With the growing trend in plant based and vegan patterns of eating, more and more runners are looking to incorporate more plant foods into their diet to improve their health, performance, feel better and for ethical reasons.

 

In this episode of the podcast, I give an overview of and an intro to plant based eating. I have been vegan for three and a half years now, and vegetarian for several years prior to that so I have a keen interest in this area of nutrition.

 

I cover how I came to be vegan, what a vegan and plant diet actually is (and the difference between those two terms) some (but not all) important nutritional considerations for those eating a predominantly plant based diet and quick tips on how to transition. 

 

I also shared some of my favourite, easy vegan recipes which I’ll share over on Instagram.
