In this episode, we have a great mathematician, to get our ‘M’ in STEM women. Nahid Banihashemi has a growth mindset - she takes responsibility for building up a better version of herself in order to contribute more and reach a full potential. Nahid have realized that mathematics comes naturally to her - it’s like playing a game . So she ended up completing all her degrees -Bachelor , Master and Ph.D- in Applied Mathematics. Nahid has worked on solving a wide range of real life problems through mathematical and statistical approaches ,and been fortunate to work with great scientists and engineers from well-known universities and organizations like the University of Technology Sydney, the University of Sydney and University of South Australia. She has also achieved great teaching experiences by helping students in these universities. After years of working with fresh high school graduates at different universities, Nahid came up with the conclusion that most students struggle with the basic mathematical knowledge required to have before entering universities. This has made her initiate her own company, Bungee Pi , to help children acquire core skills and knowledge for having a bright future. Bungee Pi has a vision to empower students with problem solving skills and critical thinking using applied mathematics.
