We are welcoming Jordan Hulsey, who just married in October of 2021. Jordan had an amazing wedding day, and she’s on the episode today to talk about her wedding planning journey, the challenges she faced during the planning phase, the one thing she would have changed, and the highlights of her big day.
Jordan met her partner Jared in elementary school. They were great friends, and then in high school they became best friends. Eventually, the feelings they shared came to the surface and it became more than friendship. This friendship has laid the foundation for their strong relationship.
Jordan’s parents played a significant role in helping her plan her wedding, which allowed her to focus on school. Her family contacted vendors, got quotes, and discussed everything with Jordan so she could make the final decisions. Being able to let go of control and trust family members to step in made for a stress-free experience.
There are a few things Jordan wishes she knew before planning her wedding, which she shares during the episode. Creating her guest list became one of the more stressful parts of her wedding because many guests wanted to invite people she and Jared had never met. What helped the most in dealing with this situation was setting boundaries and sticking to what was most important to her.
Jordan’s one piece of advice when it comes to planning a wedding is not to lose sight of your vision by accommodating what your guests want. Take a step back, regroup, and don’t feel like you need to explain yourself or what you want. She also emphasizes investing in great photography and videography because those are the things you keep with you forever.
