Hello sweet friend! This week's episode may be triggering for some women, as my guest and I talk about being a "childless woman".
I found this amazing woman Laura Bignasco through our mutual Facebook Podcasters Group, and when I read about Laura I knew that I had to have her on my show. Laura lives in Argentina and listening to her beautiful accent is quite soothing. As a 47 year-old woman who always dreamed of having children, I am part of that "childless women's" group. Laura talks so beautifully about living as "childless woman" and how she navigates the societal and cultural pressures on a daily basis.
Laura talks about "pronatalism", which is a term that I had never heard of, but I've definitely fallen victim to the meaning behind it in my life.
We talk a lot about going outside of our comfort zones (which you know is a topic that I love talking about!), and we talk about the subjects of acceptance, feeling like a "whole woman" even without a child, and the grief process that comes with being a "childless woman" in today's world.
You can find Laura on her IG page:
https://www.instagram.com/lasnomama/
Hearing Laura say her instagram's name in Spanish is so beautiful and really gives a visceral feeling to the contrast of the name and what it actually means.
I hope that you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it!
As always, if you have 2 minutes to leave a rating a review, I'd be honored!
Until next time my friend,
Be well,
XOXO,
Katie
