In the realm of serial killers, few figures stand as chilling and enigmatic as Sergey Tkach, a Ukrainian 
police officer and serial killer who terrorized the former Soviet Union between 1980 and 2005. Known 
as the "Dnepropetrovsk Maniac" and the "Metalworker," Tkach's reign of terror involved the murder of 
at least 37 women and girls, though he confessed to over 100. His crimes, motivated by a sadistic 
blend of sexual gratification, necrophilia, and a desire for power, left a trail of fear and despair in their 
wake.
