Kris & David are joined by Emil Jay (@theemiljay) to discuss the week-plus that was December 22nd - December 29th, 1995. We start off by talking about Starrcade ’95, where WCW went against New Japan in a best of seven series of matches and we saw a new World Heavyweight Champion crowned, on top of a highly controversial U.S. Title match among other highlights. We also talk about the pre-taped Christmas episode of Monday Nitro, plus Mean Gene dropping one of his biggest Hotline doozies ever. We also go over the business of Japanese wrestling in 1995, all of the indies running Korakuen Hall during our week, plus year-end awards in Mexico and a famously wild Christmas night in Tijuana. We then go to the U.S. indie scene, starting with ECW, talking about their New York City debut with a pretty big show in the form of Holiday Hell at the Lost Battalion Hall, the USWA vs. SMW feud getting close to the end but still going strong, COMPTON LUCHA, and even some Incredibly Strange Wrestling—the J.R. Benson version—as well. We then close with the WWF, where rumors about Royal Rumble surprises are running wild, but best of all, we talk about the beginning and the end of XANTA CLAUS!!!!! All that and so much more on an action packed Between the Sheets!!!!
