The mysterious identity of one of the most iconic, polite and daring airline pirates in American history - 'DB Cooper'.
On November 24th, 1971, an unassuming man wearing a dark suit, sunglasses and with neat, cropped hair bought a ticket for Northwest Orient Airlines 305. Once airborne, he hijacked the plane using a bomb, was exceedingly polite to the passengers and crew, had a couple of drinks and negotiated the delivery of $200,000 to the aircraft during a refuelling stop.
Once the passengers had been released, and flight 305 was once again airborne, the mysterious 'DB Cooper' proceeded to jump from the aircraft in the midst of a storm, wearing nothing but his suit, a parachute and the ransom money strapped to his body. The man known in the press as 'DB Cooper' vanished into thin air above the forests of Washington state, never to be seen or heard from again.. or did he?
This week the boys discuss the events of November 24th 1971, and explore some of the theories of who 'DB Cooper' might be, some later developments in the investigation, and how he pulled off his iconic hijacking.
