Ep. 29 What are Mixed Orientation Relationships? with Lauren Bailey

Listen Later

Lauren Bailey came to mental health therapy after a decade of working in politics and government in Washington, D.C. Their partner's coming out and their shared journey, first as a mixed orientation relationship and then as two queer people navigating separation, led Lauren to pursue a career as a therapist. Lauren is especially interested in helping folks with identity concerns, queer youth, mixed orientation relationships, polyamorous folk, and family members looking to be more affirming. They have spent three years writing and conducting research about coming out as a mixed-orientation couple and MOREs' experiences in therapy.

In this episode Lauren and I dive into the spectrum of love and relationships from mixed orientation  to polyamory. We discuss the complexities and challenges people may face when exploring outside of what is considered traditional or normal. Navigating a path many folks are curious to explore, Lauren’s work and research can provide guidance, validation, and support.
