Ep. 3 *David Prestage* On Moving To Panama In Your Later Years, Being Accepted And Respected Into A New Culturally Diverse Community And Facing Fear Head On (Or Foot On)

Listen Later

Have you ever thought about moving to Panama? Regardless of your answer, after hearing this episode, you may start to consider it! David Prestage is a 74 year old Master Gardener from Porterville, California. After living on the same property for 40 years, him and his wife took a leap of faith and moved to an area in the Chiriqui Highlands in Panama, and haven't looked back.

David is a true story teller, you can literally see his property in your mind as he describes it, and can feel the community connection when he talks about helping out in the local school, and his wife having the privilege to be dressed in a traditional Panamanian dress called a Pollera. As a gardener the enriched volcanic soil is unlike anything David has worked with before and it exists due to Volcan Baru having errupted in 1550 wiping out nearly everything in its path.
