When the path you’re on is stable and holds the promise of conventional success, veering off might be considered foolish or irrational. That didn't stop Uzo Njoku, a 23-year old artist and author who went from studying how to crunch numbers as a Statistics major to creating art that's drawing attention for its focus on blackness and womanhood.
