Students and staff perform best in school when they are surrounded by a safe environment. Surly that is something we can all agree on. Yet when it comes to discussing armed School Resource Officers or SROs the topic often becomes controversial. Deputy Chief Mitchell McKinney with the Fort Wayne Police Department leads the SRO program in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Today he is highlighting the positive contributions School Security Officers and School Resource Officers have on our children as they are in place to ensure a safe and supportive environment for each student.
