In this Bell Work Talks, Dr. Campbell discusses her life’s work on how to improve the healthcare system in preventing domestic violence homicides. She discusses how her research has brought together nursing research, forensic nursing and other areas of nursing practice. She reviews how strangulation and traumatic brain injury impact the long-term health consequences of women experiencing abuse. She speaks of the additional effects on health when there are multiple types of trauma possibly beginning in childhood, or involving historical trauma and racism.
