The societal expectation to have a partner gets extra loud around 30th birthdays. Louder than on Valentine’s Day. So, I tried to manifest a partner and a 30th birthday trip with said partner, all before I turned 30. It sort of worked – not in the way I expected – but it was even more magical than I could have imagined. This is a story of what happens when you face the worst-case scenario and choose to celebrate yourself no matter what.
