As we enter Black History Month, we're starting off with some tragic but important stories. First, Lexi tells the life of historic Black educator, pioneer leader of the civil rights movement, and president of the state chapter of the NAACP: Harry T. Moore. Then, Morgan covers sundown towns and the murder of Carol Jenkins.
Additionally, this podcast was recorded prior to the History Woes team learning of the murder of Tyre Nichols in police custody. There are no words to express the feelings evoked by learning the details of this event and we can't ever understand how the family and black community feel. Having said that, the History Woes podcast will be donating to the Tyree Nichols Memorial Fund and Black Lives Matter. We will link the memorial fund, the Ballad of Harry T. Moore, and a link to Vote.gov where you can get information on voting in United States elections and links to register online where available below.
