In the 1990's Pamela Smart would become both a national and international sensation.  The fame Smart would receive did not come from being a big celebrity in Hollywood.  She would become popular for coercing her teenage lover and three other students to commit murder. Pamela Smart wanted to avoid a divorce and losing everything.  On May 1, 1990, Pamela would come home from a school board meeting to find her home ransacked and her husband Gregory Smart murdered with a gunshot wound to the head. This story would spread like wildfire because Pamela Smart was more interested in her own popularity than the actual death of her husband.
