California's new law, AB 1127, bans the sale of new Glock and Glock-style handguns that can be easily converted into automatic weapons by a "cruciform trigger bar". The law, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, takes effect on July 1, 2026, and applies to both Glock-manufactured and similar pistols that have this specific component. The ban does not apply to existing Glock ownership, law enforcement sales, or private party transfers of pre-existing firearms.
