Queer Eye in Japan (https://www.netflix.com/ca/title/81075744) straddles a fine line between imposing an eminently Western view onto relationships and approaching their makeover subjects with compassion and a genuine desire to resolve their problems.

The Good Place (https://www.netflix.com/ca/title/80113701) is on the surface a feel-good comedy, but it has interesting things to say about refashioning the Western storytelling structure based on conflict.
