What do you do when you are experiencing abuse but also being told it’s not bad and it’s your fault? Well, that’s what we dive into in this episode through our guest’s story of breaking free from everything that held her back and was harming her. And let me tell you, it’s incredible (as is she!) Our guest’s name is Ishtar Abdul, and also goes by zahraa. She is an actress, student, and also a mom of two boys. She is an advocate & survivor who is sharing and writing her story which she entitles “if the volcano speaks”. Her motivation to share is that she used to be silent and hide the truth and doesn’t want to do that anymore. Her story that she is writing is mainly about the physical abuse that she suffered from. She aspires to represent many women and hopefully will inspire others to be themselves and speak up when they get hurt. Her main message is for women to keep pushing through the hard things, and remind them to never give up. You can connect with her on Instagram at www.instagram.com/ishtar_lioness10 and get more updates on her upcoming story.
