One of the beauties of becoming a mom is squeezing in a bit of a therapeutic redo of your own childhood. There are bits and pieces I feel I was over compensating from what I felt was either missing or perhaps over done like a sadly bbq'd wild salmon. I'm grateful for the principles outlined in the book Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne that outlined the areas to simplify in life for the kids' benefit but, needless to say, Mama and Dada soak in the bliss too. And not to mention Mama Biz! And helps me bring that tendency to over compensate back to simply compensate.
