Once lampooned as a "circus act," Tony Hawk rose up to become skateboarding's brightest star while transforming the sport over four decades. This year, the skater known as "Birdman" turned 55.

In two interviews, Hawk talked about the risks and rewards of skateboarding as well as the business of extreme sports, challenges along the way, and how truly inclusive skateboarding has become. This is a compilation of interviews from 2019 and 2023.
