If you told a kid that the split on their Halloween candy was 50/50, then gave 50% to one parent and took 50% of the remaining 50% from the kid, they would call that a bullshit split, and they would be right.

That’s not 50/50, that’s 25/75.

Yet that is what many in our industry have adopted, twisting the math to make people feel good.

Better to do some actual math.
