"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."
~ James 1:19-20
"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret."
~ Ambrose Bierce
Hey Guys, Welcome back to the GraftedIn Podcast!
We've all been there...We've seen red; lost the plot; let off some steam; held a grudge; cussed someone out and so on and so on. But hey we've never murdered anyone! so we must be pretty good right?
Wrong.
Jesus tells us "if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell."
In today's day and age it's pretty easy to find a reason to BE angry, and even easier to find an excuse and sympathisers that agree with why you did what you did...seldom though is it a good one. Yet, whilst uncommon to find a reason for anger, it doesn't mean that ALL anger or it's related emotions are a sin, after all Jesus did express and give vent to his own anger; "he looked upon the Pharisees with anger" (Mark 3:5) and he also "flipped tables" (Matthew 21:12-13, Mark 11:15-18), yet we are told and KNOW he was sinless and blameless, and died that way for us on the cross.
But HOW is it we can be angry, act on our anger and yet not sin? Tune In this episode as the boys discuss the answer and also open up on their personal struggles with Anger Managment; Frustration; Wrath; Rage and the like, and the ways they were able to overcome their wrathful thoughts and desires.
