In the third week of our Snow White Month, Drew and Cassie are here to discuss Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust. This 2017 novel switches perspectives between two characters: Mina, who learns that her magician father replaced her true heart with a heart of glass and eventually ascends to the role of queen in a kingdom of eternal winter, and Lynet, her stepdaughter, who is shocked to learn that she is a clone of her father's dead wife, created by the same magician using snow and blood. The story revolves around their relationship as their lives run parallel courses in alternating timelines, their hopes and fear entwining to retell a story we all know if a fresh and beautiful new way.
