Joe Bryan, was a high school principal in 1985 and had been attending an educational conference in Austin, Texas, over 100 miles away from his home when his wife was murdered. Bryan was subsequently convicted of murder and spent over 33 years in prison based in part on faulty bloodstain pattern analysis evidence. A detective working on his case wrote in a sworn affidavit submitted to the court, “My conclusions were wrong..." regarding the BPA evidence.
