EP 33 - Lisa - Three Pregnancies & Births, Two hospital Births, Epidural, Homebirt

Listen Later

In this week's episode I chat to Lisa about her three pregnancies and births. Lisa's first little boy was born in hospital and she chose to opt for an epidural, followed by a very quick birth. She talks us through postpartum life first time round and the changes she made with her two subsequent pregnancies. She referred to the grove in her couch where she sat and fed her second little boy without any interruptions or feeling obliged to fulfill any other needs bar those of her babies. A contrast to her first experience. She then talks us through her second pregnancy and birth. She opted for an epidural with her second little boy but describes how she was much further along than anyone was aware of and baby arrived swiftly.Lisa decided to go down the homebirth route with her third pregnancy. She chose @laura_todeliveryandbeyond as her midwife through @privatemidwivesireland and they shared a beautiful experience. Lisa admits she was nervous approaching her consultant about her choice to have her baby at home. Lisa works as an ER doctor and yes, she did she some puzzled faces from her colleagues but as Lisa rightly puts it, when they are called it's usually in an emergency so that is all they see.I love how she describes Féiles birth. Laughing, relaxing, enjoying and birthing her baby at home. So beautiful!Enjoy!
