Protective Orders (PO's) are similar to Restraining Orders, but they are not one and the same. In fact the statues for PO's change yearly. So when you pile the changing statues on top of everything else our officers need to know, knowledge becomes power when it comes to being able to file one. Especially if you are dealing with domestic violence, sex offenses, stalking, harassment or grooming. Anyone can walk in off the street or hop online to file a Protective Order.
