This week on FIRE Yourself First, we have our first REPEAT Guest!  

You’ll remember Geta Barbu from Episode 17 where we talked about our mutually favorite subject that Health is Wealth.

This time she’s back to talk about the challenge she gave to herself over the summer to SLOW DOWN.  She calls it Speed Limit 45 and it is so relatable!

Slowing down has so many benefits.  Here are Geta’s top 10 lessons from the exercise:

  1. Less parenting, more being

  2. Kids watch the small things, not the big things

  3. I set the tone for the day, nobody else can do that for me

  4. I’m deeply hard on myself and then am shocked when others give compliments

  5. Doing silent time for 10 minutes in the car gets the kids to talk and share with me

  6. On  purpose scream singing to a song I love does indeed improve mood and gets the kids to see what mom enjoys

  7. Being more present made the summer feel longer - like I created more time

  8. Slowing down is scary, but the rewards are huge

  9. Water and food taste better when you slow down to actually taste it

  10. Slowing down makes me much more confident in decision making
