Episode 34: Ahmad Suradji.
In the realm of Southeast Asian serial killers, few figures stand as chilling and enigmatic as Ahmad
Suradji, an Indonesian dukun (traditional healer) who terrorized the city of Medan and its
surroundings between 1987 and 1997. Dubbed the "Vampire Killer" and the "Dukun of Death,"
Suradji's reign of terror involved the murder of at least 70 people, though he confessed to over 90. His
crimes, motivated by a combination of greed and a belief in black magic, left a trail of fear and despair
in their wake.
