Another local civic leader has announced intent to file for the 2018 mayoral election and after months of talk, the Lee's Summit City Council appears to be finally ready to decide on a voter-mandated code of ethics for public officials. Now that the Halloween is in our rearview mirror, Lee's Summit Town Hall hosts Jason Norbury and Nick Parker look ahead to the coming holiday season before sitting down with members of the Lee's Summit Ministerial Alliance to talk about the group's community service as well as preview their annual Thanksgiving service benefitting Lee's Summit Social Services and Hillcrest Transitional Housing. (Note: Our apologies — sort of — for today's headline, but for some reason we can't get Will Smith out of our ears.)
(Note, part II: We would have liked for this week's episode to include an interview with the third candidate for Missouri's District 8 Senate seat. Unfortunately, Republican Mike Cierpiot declined to respond to our invitations to join the show and speak directly to Lee's Summit voters on his candidacy and issues directly impacting this community. Both Democrat Hillary Shields and Independent Jacob Turk accepted our invitations and offered their perspectives to Lee's Summit voters.)
