Today's show is a little harder to discuss. Sharifa Gomez (HR Professional) and Carolyn Wheeler (Employment Lawyer) walked into the WERA studios to share with me their thoughts and expertise about Sexual Harassment in the workplace.
Sharifa Gomez is an HR Professional in the U.S. and Canada, with over a dozen years of experience dealing with people in the workplace. She is the Executive Director for the Northern Virginia Society for Human Resource Management and is the Principal at Jomez Consulting.
Carolyn Wheeler was an appellate attorney at the EEOC for over 25 years. She worked on several sexual harassment cases in the Supreme Court involving the defense for cases of supervisor harassment, the meaning of severe or pervasive harassment, and protections in "same sex" harassment cases. In 2015 Carolyn joined the Washington DC firm Katz, Marshall & Banks, which specializes in harassment, and whistleblower cases.
