Kris & David are joined by the returning Beau James (@kingofkingsport) for a TWO-PART episode of BTS celebrating our 350th show, discussing the week-plus that was April 12-19, 1994. We start with WCW, where it's a massive section featuring Hulk Hogan officially reaching a deal with the company, Jesse Ventura winning his big videotape royalties lawsuit over the WWF, Brian Pillman & Steve Austin re-upping their contracts for two years, 2 Cold Scorpio getting fired over his love of jazz cigarettes, Missy Hyatt on A Current Affair, and, oh yeah…SPRING STAMPEDE ’94, one of the greatest PPV's ever. We then go to Japan, where we talk about an epic April 16th in Tokyo, as All Japan has Champion Carnival finals at the Budokan after Mitsuharu Misawa's "injury" shook everything up, while New Japan has the first SUPER J-CUP at Sumo Hall, which changed Japanese wrestling in many ways both in Japan and in western fan culture. We also have the UWFi returning to PPV in the United States, Tonya Harding turning down All Japan Women, and tons more. Check out part 2 for Other North America, Other USA, and the WWF!
Timestamps:
0:00:00 WCW
2:54:56 Japan: AJPW, NJPW, FMW, NFW, NOW, PWC, W*ING, PWFG, RINGS, UWFi, AJW, & LLPW
